SOPHIA XT
LENS API · two-axis pricing

Pay for what you use.Flat monthly tier · per-call overage · no surprises.

Pick a tier that covers your expected volume. If you go over, overage is billed at the tier's per-call rate — never at a markup, never with hidden minimums. Free tier hard-caps at quota so you'll never see a surprise bill.

How two-axis pricing works

Predictable base · honest overage.

Most API products either charge per-call (which makes budgeting impossible) or charge a flat tier with hard caps that throttle you mid-deploy. We do both, and let you mix them: the tier covers your steady-state volume, overage absorbs spikes at the tier's negotiated per-call rate. Higher tiers get cheaper overage, so growth is rewarded, not punished.

1

Subscription tier

A flat monthly fee that includes a generous monthly call quota. Free tier hard-caps at 100 calls/month so it's safe to evaluate without putting a card down.

Why have a tier at all? Predictable cost for budgeting; easy to forecast.

2

Metered overage

Above the included quota, every call is billed at the tier's per-call rate. Pro is $0.005/call; Scale is $0.0025/call (50% off Pro). Overage settles at the end of each billing period.

Why have overage? Spikes don't break your deploy. Free tier doesn't have it, so there are no surprise bills there.

Common questions

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from the customer portal; your tier benefits run until the end of the current billing period, then drop to Free. No prorated refunds.

What counts as a call?

One successful POST to /api/v1/lens (whether DETERMINISTIC or BEST_EFFORT). Failed calls (parse errors, no backend available, etc.) are not counted.

Can I switch tiers mid-period?

Yes — Stripe prorates the difference automatically. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the next renewal.

Is there a token-based pricing option?

Not currently. We bill by call (one constrained generation = one call) because constrained-generation cost is dominated by the lock resolution + verification step, not raw token count.

Do I need a paid tier to use Cassandra T1?

No — Cassandra T1.5 is Apache 2.0; you can self-host it for free. Paid tiers add the hosted API, custom adapters, and support.

What about volume discounts?

Scale tier already includes a 50% discount on overage versus Pro. Above 1M calls/month, contact sales for further negotiated pricing.
